BCME program was conducted from Jan 7th to Jan 9th 2026 for 30 faculty of various department of Akash Institute of Medical Sciences and Research center

The Day 1 of program started with pre -test , followed by an Introductory ice breaking and Group dynamics session. Each faculty member introduced themselves and answered the question from the box of questions meant for them. The importance of group dynamics was demonstrated in a group activity called “crossing the galaxy”. The next session was an interactive session in which the fundamentals of various domains of learning were explained which is the foundation of the program.
The session on Goals, Roles ,Competency and Learning Objectives and the difference of each of the component was explained and reading the competency table from the GMER pdf was demonstrated. Framing a Specific learning Objective was taught and the same continued for Teaching learning methods (TLM) and Assessment sessions. The following session on TLM mainly emphasized how the Lecture, which is most economical and feasible method of teaching can be made interactive. Small group sessions involved demonstrations of various methods like fishbowl, jigsaw and snowballing techniques. The session on Assessment: Internal assessment, Formative assessment which is the main crux of CBME curriculum stressed on how formative assessment is For learning and with feedback how students can improve learning.
Day 2 and Day 3 started with different chosen participant’s reflection and recap on pre and post lunch session,
The session on Self- directed learning (SDL) with activities made the participants understand the importance of SDL in adult learning. The AETCOM session had many videos, and role plays and participants actively participated in the activities on how AETCOM, which is now not a hidden curriculum any more can be taught easily making learning a fun activity. The use of skill lab and importance of skill teaching was demonstrated in next session with 5 skill lab stations. The subsequent session on how to frame questions was very important as faculty it’s imperative to know the question paper setting guidelines.
The final Day 3 had topics like OSCE assessment station which is the heart of CBME curriculum followed by Mentoring and Drafting a timetable which is one of the essential skill the facilitators needs for frequent documentation and submission of timetable to NMC.
The BCME program ended with encouraging feedback from participants and certificate distribution by observer and Medical superintendent.
